About the Author//

Mona Hagmagid is a Sudanese and Afro-American woman from Northern Virginia. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in American Studies at the University of Michigan focusing on the history of American Muslims. She writes, reads, and thinks often and so she decided to make room for to share it here on DoD. Please do drop a comment and she’ll get back to you as soon as she can!
